After evolving into a Dodrio, it’s two brains split into three (somehow; scientists like Professor Rowan are studying unique Pokemon like Dodrio and Magneton) All three heads have a different personality and are unusually crotchety. They all however, feel hunger all the same time. Even if one head eats, they’ll all be satisfied. They’re mostly found on wide open plains or in deserts where they all live in small groups of four or five. Although incredibly rare, there are instances where there are four heads after evolution.

Dodrio’s attack is very impressive and should obviously not be neglected, granted her moovepool isn’t exactly grand, but Dodrio does get moves like Brave Bird, Steel Wing, and Pursuit. Work with her attack and make her into a powerful sweep machine. To do that though, you’re gonna need to get a little creative with her attacks. Quick Attack always has been, and always be one of the best priority moves in the game, and while yes, Dodrio’s 100 base speed will will rarely fail, you never know. Facade combined with a Toxic/Flame Orb will make for a useful STAB making good use of her Normal typing. Knock Off gets rid of the opponents held item which messes up strategies that revolves around their held item, and with Dodrio’s high speed, this is almost always a sure move placement on most Dodrio sets. Assurance is pointless since she is fast, same with Payback. Natural Gift is a move that is never used because it’s “useless.” Not true, if you know what berry to equip, and when to plan your attack you can deal massive damage.(In the future, I’ll do an analysis on this move. Maybe later on in the week.) Double Hit(Which is only available by leveling up it’s pre-evolution to Level 32) makes for another useful STAB and gets rid of Focus Sash and other similar abilities/moves. The 5th generation took away most of Dodrio’s moves making using her all the more difficult. Like I say with all of these reviews, raise your Dodrio in a 4th gen game THEN transer it over. Overall, you need to put in some effort to make Dodrio a powerhouse, not that she already isn’t, but some effort is still needed.
*fun fact*
Dodrio was the first Pokemon to appear in the flesh in the Pokemon anime. Any other Pokemon appearing before it were either viewed on TV, Was seen in a dream/fantasy, or was a toy in Ash’s room.
